This map was born out of a 2014 KU Environmental Studies Capstone Project. The goal of this project is to increase awareness and accessibility of local foods by bridging the gap between the community and sustainable food systems.
The purpose of this map is to serve as an ever-growing comprehensive information hub about local foods and food justice within and closely surrounding the city of Lawrence. Our vision is to share this map with individuals and organizations. In centralizing this information we as a community can promote local and sustainable food systems and provide others with a tool to facilitate involvement in local foods, sustainable farming, and food justice.
